  1. INTRODUCTION
  2.  
  3.   Xit provides a one button click to close any PM window on the desktop. When
  4.   loaded, it adds a "Close" button (an 'X') on the left side of all PM
  5.   titlebars. Pressing this button does the same action as pressing Alt-F4, or
  6.   selecting the "Close" option in the system menu.
  7.  
  8. INSTALLATION
  9.  
  10.   Three files are in this release:
  11.                 XIT.EXE         - runtime
  12.                 XITDLL.DLL      - support file
  13.                 README.XIT      - this file
  14.  
  15.   Copy the first two files to any directory.  Insure this directory is in the
  16.   LIBPATH statement in CONFIG.SYS or that the current directory is indicated
  17.   (LIBPATH=.). You can place this program in the startup folder if required.

  19. USING XIT
  20.  
  21.   When Xit is loaded, it defaults to minimized and enabled.  To override these
  22.   defaults, use these startup options:
  23.  
  24.                 /NM     - don't minimize on startup
  25.                 /S      - suspend Xit on startup
  26.  
  27.   To toggle Xits state, press the Enable/Suspend button. To exit Xit, press the
  28.   Terminate button. Xit does not use any INI files nor does it modify CONFIG.SYS.

  30. OBTAINING XIT
  31.  
  32.   Xit is freeware. Latest versions can be found on the internet at:

  44. PROBLEMS
  45.  
  46.   Xit has only been tested under Warp 3.0. Problems with Xit and other
  47.   applications are not known at the time of the last beta testing, but users
  48.   will always comes across bugs. Please let us know of any problems via email by
